Art Vernissage in Ambassador Hotel: Fabio Mastrangelo Invites
Fabio Mastrangelo Invites was the ninth event of the Art Vernissage in Ambassador Hotel Series, held on May 31, 2010.
The program included performances by baritone Vladimir Moroz of Mariinsky Theater, musicians of the State Hermitage Orchestra, Andreev State Academic Russian Orchestra, and Sofya Volkova, student of the Department of Voice at Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg.
This was the first time for Fabio Mastrangelo conducted state orchestras in the walls of our hotel. Vladimir Moroz performed Valentine’s Cavatina and the Drinking Song from Faust. Sofya Volkova sang Salome’s aria from Herodias, Girls Went To the Woods for Mushrooms, and Flickan kom ifran sin alsklings mote (Girl Came Back Home after a Walk), a song by Jan Sibelius.
Special guests at the event included Michael Denard, choreographer of Grand Opera in Paris, and opera soprano Jao Yung-hun from China. Michael Denard talked about his creative undertakings in international ballet and cooperation with Mariinsky Theater. Jao Yung-hun performed opera pieces in Russian and Italian.
According to the event tradition, one of the participants shared a culinary recipe. The dish of the day, Salmon Mille-Feuille Baked with Shrimp and Cream Sauce, was prepared by Vladimir Moroz according to a Provence recipe.
The evening concluded with a cocktail reception.
