Participants of International Likhachev Science Readings Reside in Ambassador Hotel

Participants of 10th International Likhachev Readings resided in Ambassador Hotel on May 13-15, 2010. The participants represented permanent UNESCO delegations from Benin, Greece, Iran, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Cote-D’Ivoire, UAE, Thailand, Estonia and Japan.

The first International Likhachev Readings took place in St. Petersburg in 2001 under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event is annually attended by leading Russian and foreign politicians, culture and art figures, writers, diplomats and journalists.

This year the Organizing Committee of the Forum was led by A.S. Zapesotsky, President of the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions.

In honor of the foreign guests the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Administration hosted a dinner in Ambassador Hotel. The dinner was attended by E.V. Mitrofanova, permanent representative of Russia in UNESCO, V.V. Prokhorenko, Chairman of St. Petersburg City Committee for Foreign Relations, V.A. Dementyeva, Chairwoman of the Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments, and V.V. Zapevalov, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg.
