Leningrad Spirit and Culture in the USSR Interior During Great Patriotic War, Conference at Ambassador Hotel

On May 24, 2010 Ambassador Hotel welcomed Leningrad Spirit and Culture in the USSR Interior During Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, a city-wide research conference. The event was organized by the St. Petersburg Committee for Science and Higher Education.

The Conference included plenary sessions and panel discussions on the following topics:

  • Role of evacuated Leningrad enterprises in forming industrial and economic regions of the Soviet Union;

  • Leningrad cultural heritage in the life of the country after the war;

  • Traditions of Leningrad science and education in developing higher education and science in Russian regions and the CIS, famous Leningrad residents and their role in history and culture of regions and republics of the USSR.

    • The conference was attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War, residents of Leningrad during the siege, representatives of public organizations, theaters and museums, university faculty members.
