«Internships in Russia 2009»

From August 24 to September 6, 2009, the hotel «Ambassador» hosted the winners of a grant competition in the U.S., announced by the Lihachev Fund as part of the “Internships in Russia 2009” program for Americans active in culture working on Russia-related projects.

The requirement for the internship was that applicant has a project which will increase the spread of information and interest shown towards Russian culture by the American public at large.

The program's goal is to increase mutual understanding and friendship between the American and Russian people

The internship program was designed for each participant individually, taking into account his or her project topic and professional interests. The programs included visits to cultural institutes, expert consultations, archival and library work, and getting acquainted with people active in the cultural life of St. Petersburg.
