Shanghai Days in St. Petersburg

On 18 June, the Ambassador Hotel’s panoramic Le Vernissage restaurant hosted a reception on the occasion of the closing of Shanghai Days in St. Petersburg. The gala event was attended by A.V. Prokhorenko, Chair of St. Petersburg City Hall Committee for External Relations, V.V. Zapevalov, Head of the St. Petersburg Office of the Russian Foreign Ministry, V.S. Yagya, Envoy Plenipotentiary for International Relations at the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, and other dignitaries.

Background

Shanghai Days in St. Petersburg, held from 9 to 18 June as part of the Year of China in Russia, opened with the launch of the Baltic Pearl corporate center – the first building of a multifunctional complex being built with Chinese investment money. The program featured a series of sports and cultural events, including male volleyball games between St. Petersburg and Shanghai, U-shu and gymnastics tournaments, a Chinese film festival, a gala concert at the Mariinsky Theater, a guest exhibition from the Shanghai Art Museum, and numerous inter-parliament forums and meetings.
